hello,

i have built my first computer last summer and i faced some trouble, but i always found out the solution the community here is amazing. I would very very much appreciate any help I can receive on this matter!

i have a gtx 580 asus direct cu ii wich needs x2 8pins , it was second handed but in good condition , i had to go for a good power supply to power it up , so i went with the CX750M from corsair ,

so the problem when i downloaded the newest driver from nvidia and install it then i rebooted , i get to windows logo then it reboots itself then BSOD ,

i thought its a good time to do a clean up and install windows again , so i did that ( im using win 7 64bit ) it went fine till i installed my drivers ( the nvidia one as well ) i got the BSOD again, changed hard drive same thing , even tried to install windows then install only nvidia driver and reboot.

i tried to uninstall the nvidia driver using driversweeper by going in safe mode , it starts just fine but with bad resolution and all ,but when i tried to install the same driver i been using for the last few months , i get to the windows logo then BSOD but then it hangs in black screen with strange symbols as it is shown in the picture below i press cltr + alt + delete it reboots.

now im using the integrated graphics card and its fine , but i wanted to test the mother board's pci port , so i got another graphics card from a friend ( gt 210 ) doesnt need any extra power from the psu, and it worked fine.

so here i want to know what causes the problem , is it time for me to buy new graphics card? is there a solution for this problem ? or is it my psu that doesnt give enough power for it to even boot to windows fine,

im really stuck dont know what to do anymore , so im asking the help from you guys , thank you.

Things I have tried:
-Using different/older drivers from the website gives the same problem each time
-Doing a clean installation

here are the photos sorry for bad quality :

PS : if i install the newest driver i get the same black screen but with just symbols ( no letters ) and it doesnt freez either.

my specs :

pcu : g3258 not overclocked

psu : cx750m corsair

gpu : gtx 580 asus direct cu ii

mobo : msi h81m p33 , bios version 1.9

ram : 8go ddr3 1333

Hello... 1) Try cleaning the Video card edge/contacts with rubbing alcohol.
2) Does the video card fan turn and speed up fast during boot?
3) Did this card ever work good for your system?
4) have you tried the Video card in a friends ( working ) computer?
5) have you tried Re-flashings the Video card Firmware?

After cleaning and then restarting from Safe Mode, that is all you need to do. Reinstalling the drivers from there will be similar to doing it on a brand new SSD or HDD. If you're still getting errors after that, you'll want to start testing your hardware.

I would take the card out, run DDU, install a different card you know works properly, and then reinstall the drivers fresh. See what happens.

At the same time, also put the 580 in a different computer with no problems, fresh install drivers, and see what happens.

If there are errors in the first case, you know it's something else besides the GPU. And if errors appear in the second case, you'll know it was the card as well.

If no errors occur in either case, then I'll be really confused.
