So I was wondering that if I were to get a Skylake CPU for a desktop I would require DDR4 memory but it needs to be dual channel memory. So does this mean that memory such as: (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-DOMINATOR-Platinum-Memory-Module/dp/B00NP6671M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448914567&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+dominator+platinum+ddr4) Corsair Dominator DDR4, will this memory not work with Skylake because it's quad channel and not dual channel? Also, if I want to fill all 4 slots in e.g. 4x4 16GB DDR4, would quad channel memory work or would I have to purchase 2x4 8GB twice?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Dual and quad channel doesnt matter on a RAM level it matters on the cpu and motherboard. having 2 identical sticks is required for dual channel 4 identical for quad which as far as i know is only supported in the intel extreme processors

Thanks for the reply, but from what you said I can understand that it would be fine that I use quad channel memory as long as they are identical sticks, is that correct?

Yes it will be fine though unless you are running it on an Intel extreme chipset they will run in dual channel which is fine. Though you might not get all 4 running at 3000mhz at one time. Using 4 dimms usually 2800 is the highest ive seen stable.
