Hey guys/gals. I couldn't find the answer to my specific scenario, so I apologize if there's already a thread covering it.

While using my PC at home, the PC suddenly shut off on its own unexpectedly. I was using an older power cable that I don't normally use because I left the other at a friend's place. I wiggled the power cable in tighter, turned the PC back on and it started right up. When I tried to open my browser, it said I had no connection. Tried several different browsers. It's normally connected by an onboard ethernet connection to a router. I actually have 2 routers total, which are both wireless. I have a wireless card installed in my PC, which I know was working the day before. I tried connecting to both routers wirelessly. My PC says it's connected, but it's not connecting to the internet. My smartphone and other devices are connecting to the internet just fine both wirelessly and via ethernet. My PC's devices are all showing as working properly and enabled under Device Manager. I tried using the setup wizard, troubleshooting wizard, and setting up a new network, same result - No connection to internet. I tried turning off my firewall, no change. Any help you can provide will be much appreciated. I think I read somewhere that I should check the DNS settings? If those are good, are there any other possibilities?

My specs:
Acer Aspire M3450
AMD FX (tm)-4100 Quad Core Processor
12 GB Ram
64-bit win 7
802.11n wireless lan card
Ms virtual wifi miniport adapter
Realtek PCIe GBE family controller.

Thank you.

If you go into device manager of windows.
Click on your network devices if both the network adapters are listed with no problems or errors.

Try disabling them, then enabling them first.

If you still do not get a connection, remove the drivers for each bit of hardware, left click on actions and scan for hardware changes.

Windows should load the drivers back in and may go through the setup of a new internet connection, or connecting to a network.

Thanks for the suggestion, Shaun. I tried uninstalling and installing the network devices, but I got the same result. No connection to the internet. It says I'm connected to the router, but not the internet. I can successfully ping 8.8.8.8 though. If I try typing that in the address bar of IE or Firefox though, IE says that the page cannot be displayed and Firefox spins, then says it timed out. One other weird thing, when I first power on my PC it hangs on the initial Acer splash screen for a minute and it didn't used to do that. I tried doing a rollback or restore in windows, but for some reason my SSD won't allow me to do that.

Did I fry my computer with a crappy power cable?

One thing I tried, I reset my modem and routers. Still no internet. Any help you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks!
