Core temperature showing as 971C in Speedfan after some time playing CSGO (and only CSGO, no other game, thus far)

I recently installed windows 10 and have had 0 problems until I started playing CSGO, which seems to at some random point, while playing, make the core temp jump to 971 C, which I'm guessing is impossible. This would not bother me if, as far as I see, it wouldn't also affect the FPS for CSGO. It just drops to around 30 fps from 120 and doesn't go back until I restart the pc. I don't know if it's because of the fan or because something in CSGO, but I didn't have this problem on windows 7.
