This build is going to cost me around the £l,300 mark, so I want to make sure that the build is going to work before I start spending my money. I know that the power supply is a bit over kill, but it should give me the ability to upgrade to SLI if I ever need any more performance. I will most likely upgrade to a 1440p monitor in a few month from the current 1080p one. I don't plan on overclocking the GPU much if any, but I do plan to do a bit of on overclock to the CPU. Please if you would be kind enough can you tell me if this build below will work?

CPU: i7 4790k
GPU: EVGA GTX 980Ti FTW ACX 2.0+
Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5
RAM: 8GB HyperX Fury DDR3 1866MHz
PSU: Corsair RM1000X 1000 W ATX/EPS Fully Modular
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5 Inch
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Monitor: BenQ GL2450HM 24 inch
Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Pearl Window Side Panel - Black

Solution
I like the Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 better. It has better power phases for later CPU overclocking. The XFX P1-1060-BEFX is about as good and cheaper to get the money back for the motherboard. I'd go for 2400Mhz memory. XMP will allow you to use it.

The OP said that they plan to SLI. They need it for that. Didn't see any mention of 1080p. Looks like a multi monitor or 2k to 4k system to me.

The monitor is in his parts list
1080p , 60 Hz

Even the completely unneeded SLI set up would run fine on an 850 watt psu
