Hey guys,

For a few months now I've been having a weird problem. While I'm on my computer (web browsing usually) chrome will suddenly stop responding. If I'm playing a video the audio will continue and sometimes even the video itself. Then soon my Windows will also stop responding leaving just the audio/video and my mouse responding. This lasts between 30-120 seconds. Then everything will return to normal.

Now the hard freezing seems to only happen when playing Battlefront, but has happened once on CS:GO. In-game or loading screen the entire PC will freeze and has to be restarted by holding the power button.

This freezing is happening more often by the day.

Specs:
Corsair 750w PSU
AMD FX - 8150 CPU
GTX-970 GPU
8 GB Vengeance RAM
EVO SSD Storage

The PSU is brand new and I'm up-to-date on GPU drivers.

Thank you for any suggestions!

Solution
have you checked your temps when this happens? sounds like something in your graphics set up is not working correctly. a few suggestions

1. Download OpenHardwareMonitor ( or some other software) that will let you check your temps when the system crashes
2. use DDU and get rid of old graphics driver installs and reinstall drivers
3 Try to revert to older drivers that worked

how old is your GPU? is it overclocked? you might need to pull the dumps from the crashes
