How to get my CD drive on the boot priority list

I've built a nice gaming computer and I've only had one problem. My optical drive won't appear in my boot priority list and I have no idea why I checked the SATA ports to make sure it was plugged in and it was fine so I have no idea why it won't work

Put your boot hdd as the first priority, save and exit.
During post you are given the option to 'Select boot device' (or similar) choose that and your optical drive should now be displayed.
