I had this problem a while back where my labtop would constantly freeze ( I have a hp sleek book 15) and after giving it to a tech savy family friend he replaced the hard drive and it seemed to have fixed the problem 5-6 months later I have the same problem constant freezes and I can't do anything on my labtop anymore is there anything I can do to prevent or fix this?

Solution
Yup, take the hdd out and turn it over and spank it several times while yelling BAD DRIVE, Badddd DRIVE! Just kiddin:).
Maybe another failing drive, probably a Seagate.
Try a SSD.
Good luck,

Hi there Ramy523,

You need to back up the data stored on the drive as soon as possible.
After that, you can just test the drive: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility

In case your laptop is unresponsive and you can't back up your data, you can boot up Ubuntu from a CD or a flash drive and access the drive: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/267999-32-recover-data-mode
I guess you can use some testing tool for DOS as well.

Hope this will help,
