I have decided to go with the Audio-Technica AT2020USB Cardioid Condenser USB Microphone. Before I purchase it I really need the communities help. Let me link you to the mic first
http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-AT2020USB-Cardioid-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B001AS6OYC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1448937354&sr=8-3&keywords=at2035+usb

Alright, I need a pop filter and a boom arm scissor mic stand for the microphone.

1. Can someone please link me the best pop filter and boom arm scissor mic stand for this microphone? (no more than $40 pls unless required)

2. Do I need a shock mount for this microphone? and if so please link

3. Do I need an extended usb cord for microphone to go all the way down the arm scissor mic stand and reach the back of the computer? if so please link a usb cord extender.

Do NOT be afraid to answer even if someone has already posted a solution. I would love to have many people reply to this thread before I purchase anything.
Thanks!

while not the cheapest, here is a low profile windscreen to look at http://www.amazon.com/WindTech-PopGard-Microphone-Windscreen/dp/B00946ZJN4/ref=sr_1_28?ie=UTF8&qid=1448981915&sr=8-28&keywords=pop+filter which will not be as "in the way" as regular windscreens might be. you might be able to get away with just a foamie like http://www.amazon.com/Stony-Edge-Windscreen-Filter-Handheld-Microphones/dp/B016V8I65A/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1448982075&sr=8-4&keywords=at2020+pop+filter as well.

you could of course get away with any of the circular gooseneck designs as well which generally just clamp on. or, one of the ones built onto a shockmount. i think you can find these easy enough as they are quite...

um... u kinda ignored what I said about the stand. I said " boom arm scissor mic stand ", like these http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=boom+scissor+arm+stand&tag=googhydr-20&index=mi&hvadid=54535691196&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7826268610485996868&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_7x431h8cmm_e and could you recommend them from amazon too please if you reply. Thanks again

1) I didn't ignore, I simply gave you a more stable option that wouldn't need anti-vibration pads
2) You have a list right there that use the same mic mounting options
3) No, I will not recommend from amazon. BH is a store dedicated to audio, video, and cameras, so they tend to sell proper equipment. You can pick whatever vendor you like afterwards, just copy and paste the product into your preferred website
4) BH is cheaper...

you could of course get away with any of the circular gooseneck designs as well which generally just clamp on. or, one of the ones built onto a shockmount. i think you can find these easy enough as they are quite prevalent on amazon and are universal generally.

i tend to agree, a floor mounted stand model without springs may be a bit more stable than one on a boom arm. also, any boom you purchase for very cheap is not going to be high quality and may not be very stable - up to you if you want to take that risk or not.

a shock mount is highly suggested as vibration can easily transfer up the boom arm mounted on your desk to the microphone. this is another reason why a floor mount is more suggested.

heres an all metal shock mount http://www.amazon.com/Weymic-Universal-Microphone-Diameter-Condenser/dp/B00I3SVVWC/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1448982499&sr=8-5&keywords=at2020+shock+mount which will be better built than plastic ones for only a bit more cost.

as far as booms are concerned, you pay for quality. if you get something cheap you will get something cheaply made. models such as http://www.amazon.com/RODE-Swivel-Mount-Studio-Microphone/dp/B001D7UYBO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1448982674&sr=8-3&keywords=mic+boom are more ideal since they are more stable but also have higher cost as well. could you make do with one of the cheapies? likely, and many include standard thread to match up to any mount you get though do not expect high quality.

you might be able to get by with something cheap like http://www.amazon.com/Tonor%C2%AE-Microphone-Suspension-Scissor-Stand/dp/B00WO6MTAW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448983238&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=microphone+boom&psc=1 or similar and thread on a shock mount although they do not list thread sizes for it on the boom so i can not say for certain they are compatible with thread on mounts.

if all you want to spend is $40, you're not going to get much more than a basic cheap pop filter, basic shock mount and a low end stand. while i would suggest buying quality from the start, that is completely up to you. given the 2020 is a popular mic, all you need to do to check compatibility is read the reviews as the 2020 is most likely listed.

agreed, bhp offers better selection and better products.
