This is my first pc build and My storage of choice was the seagate 1tb 7200 barracuda and since the moment I first booted my Pc I noticed it makes some very audible noises. It is hard to explain but it sounds like fast rattle, my hard drive seems to be working well but the noise gets very annoying. Anyone have any thoughts It is mounted correctly I have tried several mounts they all do the same thing. It makes these noises consistently even in idle when the hdd light is on. I also need some software to test it I don't know of any could someone let me know of some good testing software. Thank you
Ps sorry for bad english

Hi there FirstTimebuilder777,

It may be a good idea to back up the data stored on it until you sort this out.
After that, in case the cables are long enough, you can boot up your system when the drive is outside the case. That way you will be sure if the drive makes that noise(not loose screws, vibration, etc.)
Also, it would be helpful if you can record that noise.
It will not hurt to contact the manufacturer's Support on that as well.

I passed all the tests but it made very loud noises when running them

Wonder if it could just be its mounting points in your case. Does it sound like the whole case is vibrating and does it quiet down slightly if you put your hand on the case/metal top of the hard disk while running/seeking? If not, I might look to RMA that drive. Most say that the Seagate 1 TB's are very quiet, and that is my experience as well (although mine's a 1 TB SSHD).
