I have two builds, One is a budget Build with an i3 and my new Build has the i7 4790k with a Corsair H55 Cooler on it. I listed my temp below and I was wondering if the temps on my i7 are what they should be? I feel like they are a bit high considering the i3 has a stock Intel cooler and my i7 is water cooled. I had the H55 on an i5 4690k last year but cannot remember my temps for load. CPU hovered around 31c-36c on idle though. Am I crazy? Also i7 is not overclocked.

i3 4170
Idle: 40c-46c
Load: 61c-67c
i7 4790k
Idle: 31c-38c
Load: 51c-60c

Yes its fine, its like mine. I have CoolerMaster Nepton240 on 4790K 4.7GHz overclocked on a Z97 MPOWER MAX AC which have led indicator on the mobo which showing real time temps and i get 60c full load gaming. Nevertheless Intel stress test showing me a max of 75c but this is a stress test which rises the temps more than a pc gaming with alot effects an particles.

Yeah these are fine. Water-cooling isn't the holy grail of cpu cooling as you might think. Actual setups give just 5-6 degrees less temps than air cooling. People generally prefer it when aesthetics is a choice or they are serious overclockers and also enthusiasts. Otherwise there is no reason not to use air cooling besides the huge cooler that sits in your case and covers half the motherboard. AIO coolers generally offer hassle free and sleek cooling performance and custom water cooling loops are pretty
