I have an Asus notebook model X54HR with Win7. The problem is it only works with the driver that is on the notebook manufacturer site. https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/X54HR/HelpDesk_Download/

If i install a newer version of catalyst or modded driver that forces the mahcine to accept it or something like this, then the screen blacks out after the WIn 7 logo. With the new Radeon Crimson software i hoped that it will work, but cant instal it. It quits with an error, like Installer package error. I downloaded it again with Raptr, but the results were the same. Did a clean install with DDU, same.

I am out of ideas. Maybe i should update the integrated gpu driver too. I dont even know if i have one.

Solution
The GPUs that some manufacturers get for notebooks can be custom varient of the GPU chipset. So, since the driver from only the manufacturer's site is working, I think that may be the case. I see that it's far out dated, so if your notebook came with a system utility, I'd suggest checking in there for a driver update for the GPU.
