I have just built a PC and when i tried starting it for the first time it got stuck in a boot loop. After some troubleshooting i came to the conclusion that the problem was when i had 2 RAM sticks inserted. The pc works fine with only 1 stick placed anywhere no matter which stick, but not with 2 no matter how i place them. I have a MSI SLI krait edition z97 and hyperX Fury 1600Mhz 8x2 memory.

Have you tried both sticks by themselves or just the one? One stick could be faulty so narrow it down a bit further if you haven't already. If the other one don't work as a single, then send the ram kit back for replacement.

Were the sticks bought in a single package - or are these individual packaged sticks. If individual, then start with 1 in slot 1, go into BIOS and raise the DRAM voltage to 1.55, save, exit, shutdown and add the second stick in slot 3 and try - if no joy, try in slot 2 and let us know what happens

They were bought as a package. I have tested each stick individually and both works, alone. I have also tried different setting 1 stick in dimm 1, then dimm two etc. all dimms work, and both sticks work... thats why im so confused. But i will try the voltage trick tonight.

So now iv'e gotten it running via dimm 1 & 2 which means i can't run dualchannel, putting anything in dimm 3 or 4 creates a loop. Is this the motherboards fault or can it be me who have bent a socketpin?

Memtest86 would help you figure out a bad slot, as well as a bad stick. Guess the site was too complicated for you that you had to downrate me huh? Maybe you dislike reading and comprehension? Ok. Don't downrate someone just because you don't like a helpful answer. I'm done helping you. Good luck.

To my defence its my first time on this site and I didn't know you can't vote on it again, I just tried pressing it and realised it when it was too late. But i guess you dont care and I'm sorry.
