I am soon going to replace the hdd in my laptop with a crucial bx100 and I was wondering what i should do with the factory installed cache ssd. I don't want to keep it in the laptop because it will already have an ssd installed. Is there anything I need to know about removing the cache drive. I am going to clone my current system to the new hard drive but I assume there are drivers installed that require the cache drive to be installed. Should I remove the drivers before cloning the system? Can I disable the cache drive in the bios?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you have a hybrid drive then you wont see your drive being accelerated is all, nothing to lose by looking.
Like ShakenBlake, I beleive the one with the hybrid drive only has 8gb ssd cache and the 32gb ssd cache model uses a separate ssd drive

I think some versions of the y510p do have a hybrid drive but This system acts like a hybrid drive because of the ssd cache, but the hdd is connected through a sata interface while the cache drive is connected through m.2.
