So around a year ago when I built my pc about a week after I built it it shut off and wouldnt turn back on and shorting it wouldnt work. I tested thw power supply and it worked.... But my pc still wouldnt turn on.... A couple days of trying to turn it on led to it turning on again.... Now while I was starting up my PC I went downstairs for about 45 minuets and came back up to an off PC that wouldnt turn back on.... I tested the power supply and it works just fine... I recently installed an ssd and the pc was working fine for a couple days after that and now this,

What could the problem be?

My motherboard is a Z97 MSI Gaming 5 and my PSU is a Corsair CX750M

Thanks for the help :)

How'd you test the PSU? Its a CX thats about a year old so in from what I've seen its nearing the end of its life. If possible try testing with a known good psu. PSu would be at the top of my list but it could be many things.

Hello,
Are all the fans spinning and motherboard is turing on normally?if it is not so,check the system with another PSU,if the PSU's fan is spinning doesn't mean it's in good condition,it might be because of the PSU getting bad.

Unfortunately that doesn't test under load which is where most psus fail. Remove the gpu and try the old psu while using the integrated video and have all non essential devices unplugged from the system.

If nothing happens in motherboard after power is ON,no green light, nothing, then i'm sure your PSU is not bad,but board itself is bad.One thing i'd do is Connect your CX PSU to the old system now and make sure it's fine before anything.
