My 4Big Quadra has 8 TB of data in it. Is configured as a RAID 0 mode. iMac is running Yosemite version 10.10.5. Has been running flawlessly for over a year. Last night rebooted my iMac and when everything came back up the iMac no longer recognized or showed the Quadra as an available drive. Its displaying a solid blue light in the front and 4 blue flashing lights in the rear. I have tried reseating the drives, switching computers from the iMac to a MacBook Pro, changing cables (e.g. different FireWire 800's, different power sources). No change.

I have in my office two other similar 4Big Quadra drives. They are running fine. The alternate power sources and cables came from the other two, just for testing purposes. No change. If I swap out the (4) drives from the troubled Quadra with one of my other Quadra's, my iMac sees it as a new drive and asks if I want to reinitialize it. Which tells me that the drives themselves appear to be ok, just not in their original Quadra.

I was on the phone with LaCie Support for more than an hour. They could not provide a solution. I asked if the problem might be with the controller? They said that it could possibly be that but they don't sell empty Quadra's without drives.

Any suggestions?

It's highly possible that the enclosure itself has failed. However, if the external storage device is still under warranty, the manufacturer's customer support should be able to provide you with a replacement for it. Maybe you should consider contacting them again.
You could try using Ubuntu Live CD to gain access to the drives' data or try testing them using the HDD manufacturer's diagnostic tool. In case you cannot find that, you can refer to this thread for some third party utilities: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility

However, I think that the issue is in the connector inside the enclosure itself, so I'd try to RMA it instead or buy a similar diskless...

Good luck!
