Solution
Two things right off.
1. Your RAM height is 40mm, the CPU cooler that is going to overhang one of your RAM slots has a max 37mm height on RAM before you have to adjust the fan. Not a big deal to do it, just something to keep in mind should you end up filling the slots. You might want to look at the Cryorig H7 instead. Its a bit more, but the heatsink doesn't over lap any RAM slots and its supposed to cool better than the Hyper Evo.

2. Your PSU. The CX line is kinda bottom run. If you can sink almost $700 in to the video card, sink a bit more in to the one thing that powers your entire computer. The EVGA G2, P2 and GS line (G2 650w is about $99) have gotten a lot of love in reviews lately. Theres also solutions from XFX and Seasonic that can get you a better PSU without a huge chunk of cash. Check out this posting for a good gauge on PSU selection

Thanks for your response. I couldn't find the H7 in stock for Newegg or anywhere else. I haven't built a pc before so i sorry for being a bit dumb about these things. So, is it really needed to go for a new cooler? I could definitely do it, no problem there. i am just wondering what problems I would have to workaround if I do stick with the Evo. I know you said that the cooler has a maximum height of 37mm while the RAM is 40mm. Is there anyway that they will work together? Or will I have to get a new cooler or get some other RAM sticks? As for PSU, I'll take your suggestion and go for something else. thanks for your time

Yeah sorry I wasn't very clear on the cooler. At stock everything, the Evo has a height clearance of 37mm. If you have RAM that exceeds that height you have to raise the fan up a bit. Its nothing major for the RAM you have since it's only a 3mm difference so the fan wont get adjusted so high as to screw with the cooling. I suggested the H7 because it doesn't interfere with the RAM at all, is shorter and slightly better cooling. All perks but nothing that would make or break a build. I've built a few systems with the Evo and its a solid cooler, much better than the stock Intel.

One more suggestion I would make for your build, pick up some extenders for your PSU ATX 24pin and CPU 8pin connections. Here are examples.

Kinda ugly but will give you an idea of what to look for. If you want nicer ones, Bitfenix and a few other companies make colored ones. You're getting a full tower case and the PSU is mounted on the bottom so your stock cables may have a hard time reaching up high enough.

thanks for explaining. I looked at the H7 and I was going to go for but it was out of stock. I assume the h5 is about the same? And for the psu and CPU extenders, are they compatible with an i7 4790k and a SuperNova g2 650w? Thanks

I'm assuming you mean the H5 Universal? The H5 Universal is on par with, or beating out the Hyper 212 Evo in most tests I've seen so it'd be a good choice.

As for the extenders, those just fit on to cables so they're universal fits for the correct cables. No worries on incompatibilities with CPU or PSU units.
