Connecting Two Connected Switches Each to a Router

Would it be advisable to connect a router via one LAN port to a switch, by a second LAN port to a second switch, and then the two switches together? These are unmanaged switches. If this is not a good idea, which would be better: connecting one switch to a LAN port on the router and the other switch to the first switch, or connecting each switch to its own LAN port on the router and not connecting them?

Solution
It would be better to just get a switch with enough ports for your system. But the switch is invisible to the system, so it shouldn't make a difference. The individual switches are powered.

You were doing fine until you said THEN THE TWO SWITCHES TOGETHER. No you cannot do this last part because you will create a LOOP.

If you just disclose WHY you are doing what you want to do will make our responses faster and to the point, rather than circle 'round the wagon.
