I originally planned to get the GTX 750 TI or the R7 265 but I had to get a new processor first thus dropping my budget significantly.

I'll settle with the 730 it's a big step up from my current Radeon R5 230 and the 730 will do what i need to. I just watched a large amount of performance videos on it and it seems to preform pretty well even when bottle-necked by terrible processors. I'm hoping the 730 might even be able to dual-card with my current GPU for the added boost, doubt it though.

If you do go with a GT 730, make sure you get the 64bit GDDR5 version. Nvidia in their wisdom released 3 different versions of the 730, and one of them (the 128bit version) is actually a different GPU altogether. The 64bit GDDR5 card is the one to get, even if you have to settle for 1GB.
