are standoffs required?

Just got a new mobo and was curious if the standoffs are a no questions asked kinda thing. My old mobo I didn't use any the case has these bumps I just screwed it to. Just wondering so I don't ruin my new mobo lol

It needs something to keep it from shorting out by coming into contact with the case. It sounds like your case has some sort of built in standoffs. As long as there is space between the motherboard and the case and the motherboard is solidly in place, you will be ok.
