Hey, My I built my first rig about a month ago. I've had no problems until today when I suddenly go a bunch of blue screen errors then the pc wouldn't start. Every time I would start up the pc it'll just go into the american megatrends and will not let me go into bios. Now I keep getting a q code 0d and a red cpu led, pc will also not post. Ive tried a number of things already:

Test the RAM
Unplug and replugged everything
Tried without the gpu
MemOK doesn't seem to do anything
Had a look at the cpu, no bent pins or noticeable damage
cpu fans plugs are in the right place
Pretty sure bios is up to date
Tried without the HDD
Clear CMOS doesn't do anything

Nothing seems to work. Could I have a faulty part? Everything worked fine until now.

Specs:
Cup: Intel i7 6770k
MB: Asus Maximus Viii hero
GPU: GTX 989 ti
PSU: 750w 80+ gold
Ram: 2x 16gb
Cooler: cooler master Nepton 240m
250gb SSD
2TB HDD
Running Windows 10

Solution
The point of the red led lights as you know is to help narrow down what component is at fault.
So in your case it`s something to do with the cpu, as you know.

Try re setting the protection circuits of your power supply.

Rocker switch on the back of the PSU to it`s other state.

Turn off the power to it from the power cord to the wall.
Wait ten seconds.
Switch it back on at the wall.
Flick the rocker switch on the back of the PSU to it`s original state.

Hit the power button on your case.

PS: What brand name is the PSU you have ?
