Hi guys.

I was planning to buy a Sapphire R9 390.

I read everywhere that these cards need 750+ watts PSU. But all the reviews that list power consumption shows that the entire system uses like 500 watts. So right now I have a ThermalTake 600W 80+ bronze that can pump 46 amperes (if I recall correctly) on the 12V rail. Is that enough?

Thanks for any answers!

EDIT: first question was because a mistake by the deal searcher webpage I used. It messed up R9 390 and R9 390X. So I removed that question.

Solution
Give yourself 300W peak consumption for the 390. Whilst gaming, your usage will probably be around 230W depending on the game and the graphical settings you choose.

With 46A on the +12V rail, that gives you 552W of power to play with (46x12). Subtract 230W for the GPU and you have 332W left over, which should be plenty unless you're running an overclocked, power-hungry CPU.

Thanks for the answer! Also I was thinking about limiting the framerate to 60 (in 1080p), would that decrease the peak power usage?
