I finished building my pc with MSI X99A Godlike Gaming motherboard and Samsung 950 Pro M.2 256GB SSD. However BIOS doesn't list the ssd in the system status page. It says Not Present for M.2/SATA Port5 line. It also doesn't show it at Board Explorer page. I first set the M.2 Source Link to Auto and M.2 PCH Strap to M.2 PCH PCIE at Advanced Settings but it didn't work. Then I tried every other combination of these settings without success. I updated the BIOS to the latest version. I made sure that the ssd is installed to the m.2 port all the way in. Any suggestions?

Solution
I faced similar issues when I tried to install Samsung 950 pro on MSI Godlike gaming motherboard. The way I got around it as follows:

1. Downloaded the Windows 10 Pro 64-bit onto a USB disk. Located my Windows 7 Pro 64bit key.
2. had a 2nd USB with the driver ofr 950 Pro on a 2nd USB disk.
3. Dis-connected all other disks including the DVD writer.
4. Booted into BIOS and checked BIOS version as 1.2, if not please update prior to install.
5. Using the Windows 10 USB disk, I reached the screen where it tries to locate the disks and finds no disk on the system. Insert the 2nd USB that has the Samsung drivers and use that to install the drivers. Then Samsung 950 pro is detected.
6. Install Windows, you may skip entering the license key...

7. Windows creates 3 partitions and the boot partition is called Windows Boot Manager.
8. Once Windows installed, I manually entered the Windows 7 Pro key and activated Windows 10 online.

Hope the above helps.
