Hey everyone,

When looking for a power supply, what is a more important factor, having a psu with a good reputation and top notch internals or another psu that has a higher 80+ rating that has internals that may not be as good?

Reason being, I'm shopping for a 750W PSU. Originally I was going to get the EVGA SuperNova B2 750W 80+ Bronze PSU seeing how it's regarded as a tier 2 PSU and is within my price range. However, I recently saw a deal on the Corsair RM750 80+ Gold for the same price which I believe is a tier 3 PSU.

Is that 80+ Gold over Bronze a reason to purchase the Corsair over EGVA or does the internals of the EVGA matter more?

Solution
When choosing a power supply, you should always look for ones that have 80+ bronze and up. As long as you are looking in that area, then you should focus on the internal components because they make up the "quality rating." In this situation, I would stick with the EVGA power supply. The 80+ Gold rating is not a reason you should buy the Corsair one instead of the EVGA PSU.
