Hello!

So I have a problem or delusion - I used xfx 260x 2gb ddr5 until few days ago but i broke fully, they gave me refund and I bought 360 core edition (probably mistake) and now I can't get fps to be stable and go over 150.

My setup:

fx 8320 - normal temps, not OC
gpu - new xfx 360 core edition - new drivers - crimson with hotfix
psu - 650w corsair
8gb ram

and a monitor that is widescreen LG flatron connected via VGA-DVI .

Maybe it can't go higher but on my old 260x I would have over 250 fps easy on 5v5 matches, now I cannot get more than 130.

settings ingame are set up for higher fps:
-vsync off
-AA off (tried on 2x)
- most of it on low

- resolution - tried like 5 of them from 1024x768 to 1280x960 and even different aspect ratios...

Don't know what is problem, except maybe some AMD crimson settings I didn't put as needed.

Ty for your time

Solution

I've figured it out. It is because Crimson keeps fan speed by default at very low (20%), which means that FPS drop is because the card is throttling in order to keep temperature from increasing. My R9 280X jumped to 95 degrees Celsius with 3DMark Fire Strike and Crimson (can you believe)?

However, when you restart, the fan speed WILL be locked again at 20%, so I THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND using a 3rd party software to maintain proper fan speed, such as MSI Afterburner

This is the problem. Open the Gaming Evolved app by pointing the mouse on the AMD Gaming Evolved (it should show you the exact name after a second or two), right click, select Control Center, then move to the "Library" tab, find the + symbol under the column on the left, select YES (CS: GO is a Steam game), then browse the Steam folder, and you can now see CS: GO on the left column I mentioned. Select that game on the same column and click OPtimize, and try again. Voila, call it a day

So you are saying that adding a csgo to gaming evolved app and clicking optimize (where half of my settings are set to high) will give me better results than having settings on low - mid?

Yes, you've got what I meant.
My R7 M260 gave me only 40 FPS under minimum settings, and them I optimized the game using the software. FPS shot sky high, almost double at 70 FPS

Okey I tried it and this is what I get:

empty server - 250-300 fps - higher then before
aim server - 65-80 fps - worse (had around 140 with my settings)
deathmatch - 90fps - worse (had around 120-140 with my settings)

Main question:

Is it possible that this gpu r7 360 core edition 2gb ddr5 is so much worse then r7 260x 2gb ddr5 and result in 80-50 fps drop inside same rig?

Yes, R7 260X OUTPERFORMS R7 360 (at least FPS improved on an empty server), maybe R7 360 is worth only for 4K films and nothing else. R7 260X is worth it, but I think the best choice for the price range is GTX 750 Ti. However, if you are an AMD fan (like me) then get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131545&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
Big performance jump with marginal price increase

Ty, but problem is that my older card that was in my computer until I got this one is only 1gb ddr3 amd and how can that card produce same fps as this 2gb ddr5?

I have a feeling that my card even when I put 2000mhz (amd overdrive) with extra power is working same as when I put it on 1500mhz.

Few things that are strange to me:

1. on 2-3 maps I had fps around 250-300
2. different map I understand fps drop but a drop from 250-300 to 87
3. like something is holding back my card...

I have m5a97 r2.0 asus and I even went and enabled asus optimal (profile) but that helped none.

My cores are unparked and now I'm thinking disabling some cores in bios...

this is so sad ;D

And it is fixed - today I got free update to win 10 after that, I installed older catalyst (not crimson) and went to bios, turned off cool n quiet and set to asus optimal and now I had 380 fps on de_cache in MM.

Ty all hf
