Surprising performance for my $300 dollar pc build?

I just recently put together a multimedia computer for my father to watch movies on and for my sister to play games on while she's home from college. It was a $300 dollar build:
Intel Pentium g3258 (no overclock yet)
GIGABYTE GA-B85M-DS3H-A (able to overclock on)
Asus Gtx 750 Ti (factory overclocked to 1150mhz)
8gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600
Seagate barracuda 1tb

The performance of it completely blew my mind, as its performance far exceeded my expectations, as I have yet to overclock it. It ran CS:GO on high at 140 fps on a Death-match sever, Bioshock Infinite at 1080p on ultra at 80fps, GtaV at 1080p on high/medium at around 45fps, and Skyrim at 1080p on ultra at 80 fps. Is this performance expected out of such a budget build, or did i get really lucky with the hardware?

Hello,

I don't think that is very unexpected. I just quickly checked the GTA V system requirements (here: http://www.pcgamer.com/gta-5-system-requirements-announced/ ), and your PC only just falls shy of the "recommended" specs, and easily beats minimum.

The only thing that is really stopping your PC from being bang-on recommended for GTA V is your CPU, which is 'recommended' to be an i5 or FX-8xxx chip.

Overall, that's a really nice build, especially for how much you paid for it.

Would you mind updating with the price of each component and where you bought it? I'm wanting to build a decent pc with my son who plays Minecraft. I'm guessing this would be more than he needs and would be a fun project to do together. thx.

lol, I just listed off the parts that would impact performance and I didn't include the OS in the price, as my father had several copies of windows sorry.

Intel Pentium G3258
Gigabyte Ga-b85m-ds3h-a
8gb corsair vengeance ddr3 1600
asus gtx 750 ti
Corsair cx430m 80+ gold
Seagate barracuda 1tb HDD
PWM fan spitter (the MOBO only had one case fan connector)
Cooler master N200 micro atx case
Windows 10

I paid 300 dollars for the parts on black friday. The total would be around 400 dollars if you include windows 10.
