My computer keeps rebooting itself

Everytime I launch a game on my PC (Fallout 4, Witcher 3, GTA 5) my pc just shuts off and then automatically reboots itself. This started 2 days ago when I started to play with MSI Afterburner. I recently SLI'd my Zotac GTX 970s and I just found out how to monitor my 2 GPU's usage and temperature. I noticed that my main card got up to 80 degrees while the second was 10 degrees below it even if both were pulling the same load. Even though that card didn't go above 80 degrees, I got worried and went into MSI afterburner and put the fan speeds at auto. Now this is when my PC started to restart itself. The Main GPU would stay cooler for a little while longer until reaching 80 degrees and at that point the fan is working 50% and above. This is when my Computer would just shut off and automatically reboots itself. Basically my PC didn't do this until I put the fan speeds at auto. I want to know what is wrong with my PC. Is my GPU's heat the problem? Should I just leave the fan speeds alone and leave it at default? Is my PSU the problem?

Hello... MSI afterburner is a band aid or OC'rs tool to examine GPU performance... You are using software to force the GPU to do settings not programed in it... there is no 100% SOFTWARE Compatibility with your hardware... Once you get the numbers you need, you then can Flash the Video Cards with a NEW BIO"s and they will run those settings... and MSI afterburner will no longer be needed to Override the Video cards on daily basis.

Does it happen if you just leave the computer on and idle?

Start a lot of non gaming programs and fill space up, browse from two browsers with full tabs.

Use just one card and see if it shuts down gaming.

Try the other card on its own.

Switch cards in slots and try again.

Keep a record on paper so you don't duplicate a setup.

I had an intermittent shutdown problem recently that I chased around RAM, CPU, GPU and then found
out more about M$ sysinternals than I really wanted to know. My 3 year old AX 850W Corsair made by
Seasonic was the culprit. I replaced that with my new build Seasonic 1250W and haven't had a problem
since.

This never happens when idle. Browsing or anything other than gaming does not cause this. This only happens when I play demanding titles WITH fan speeds at auto or any other speed other than the default on MSI afterburner

Ahh, is this like "Doctor, my head hurts when I bang it on the wall..." Not all software or applications work well.

I've just had to remove Asu's AI Suite from my machine because while examing the possible reboot issues it came up
as errors and warnings in Event Viewer.

If that's what causing the reboots then all you have left is a concern about higher temps in your SLI setup, yes?

Moar fan or alternative cooling solution.

I ended up resetting the tweaks I did in MSI Afterburner and it never rebooted like the description after that. I did notice, however, even when fan speeds weren't sped up or put on auto both cards would reach around the same temperature as it did with the fan tweaks enabled. The only reason I tweaked the fans because the primary 970 would be 10 degrees above the second (probably because it runs the PhysX too) but both would handle the same load. Although it has never gone above 80 degrees, besides going to 81 degrees while watching GTA Online explosions, I was just worried because I have a 4k monitor monitor coming in around next week and I just wondered if going above 80 would be dangerous for my card's life span since it'll be on real heavy load once that monitor comes in and wondered if there would be a way to cool it without it force rebooting my PC.
