Hi,

I've bought a HX1000i Corsair PSU but I've actually just realised, I'm not sure if it is compatible with the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti FTW GAMING ACX 2.0+ card I've got?

I'm intending to build my first PC and not sure if I've messed this up.

http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-4996-KR From the EVGA website, this GPU edition has 8+8 pin power type connector, or have I completely misunderstood this?

Also, the motherboard I have with my i7 5820K is Gigabyte X99 4 GPU SLi ATX, is it compatible?

Thanks

Yes, the HX1000i has all the connectors you need for the hardware you listed. All compatible.

In fact that PSU could run two GTX 980ti's in SLI, to give you an idea of how much muscle it has. The HX1000i is a fantastic power supply.

Ah wow ok. I'm also building a separate lower spec rig at the same time, i5 6500 with ASRock Z170 Extreme4 Skylake ATX board and a Gigabyte 4GB GTX 960, however I've only bought an EVGA 500W Bronze PSU, would that be sufficient?

Cheers Luminary, actually I'll probably pick from one of the below as I see they are on the Tier 1 list of PSUs. Which would you choose for the lower build.

EVGA SuperNOVA 550W Modular 80+ GOLD
EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2
650W EVGA SuperNOVA GS
SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 550W
