Hello everyone. I know nothing about computers but I would like to get into pc gaming. I would like to know if this would be okay to get.

I mostly want to play The Witcher series (1-3) and Gauntlet (Steam).

Would this suit my needs: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/alienware-alpha-desktop-intel-core-i3-4gb-memory-500gb-hard-drive-black/9561097.p?id=1219424183258&skuId=9561097

I just want the games to run smoothly at least 30 FPS.

I wouldn't mind trying to build a pc if you think it's worth it/ cost effective but remember I am not good with computers at all. Eventually I would like to do it but the price for the alienware seems good to at least get started now.

Regards

Building is your best option, for a gaming PC. There are instructional videos, on how to, and we can help you choose parts, depending on budget. That alienware isn't something I would consider good. Way too limited, upgrade wise, and given the 130w power brick, the graphics are most likely pretty weak.

Very much worth building your own, you'll get way better results for your money. As Logain points out, there are a ton of how-to videos that will walk you through, and of course boards like this one. And it's gotten far easier to build your own with modern tech, things really have become pretty much plug and play.
