Hey all,

So I wanted to give my 5-year- old PC a small upgrade since it had been running low on RAM lately I've decided to upgrade from 2x 2 GB to a brand sew set of 2x 4gb Kingston hyperx furyblue 1333hz. But after I swapped out my old for my new RAM and tried to turn it on my PC would shut down and restart right after it tried to boot Windows.
Since my knowledge about PC hardware is fairly limited I looked around on forums like these for people with problems similar as mine.
I read somewhere that my particular RAM was not compatible with my MOBO, so I returned my ram and went to the store to get some competable RAM. The guy there sold me a set of 2x 4 G.Skill ripjaws F3-13800CL9D-8GBRL assuring me these would work. so I went on my way, tried the new RAM but again, same thing happened and my PC wouldn't boot.
confused I googled some more I tried the following solutions:

- Tried every possible slot combination to put my RAM in (singular and dual)
- Checked in BIOS of all timings are correct (they are)
- Reset my CMOS

Finally I read someone suggesting I should update my BIOS so I did since my then current version was pretty outdated. But when I booted my PC Windows would give me an INACESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error. Great. I tried some solutions which didn't work, so I installed a new version of Win10 and now my PC boots again.
But still, when I try to boot with my new RAM my computer shuts itself down every single time right after it tries to launch Windows. And I know the RAM can't be faulty since I tried two different sets of ram. what are the odds of them both being faulty? And the slots are all fine I tested that with my old RAM. I now the most sensible thing to do here I get myself a new rig since mine is pretty outdated, but I really can't right now.

So here I am, with a clean version of win10 and a pair of RAM sticks which I cannot seem to get to work. I was hoping someone has had a similar problem or someone knows what I've been doing wrong here. I would extremely appreciate some help.

I'd try the GSkill NT series of value DRAM, prob in 1333 or 1066 (if you can find 1066).

The Ripjaws you got might work if you have the latest BIOS, but wouldn't bet on it, Intel was never good about updating the BIOS.

Most all DRAM made today use high density memory ICs which isn't compatible with the 1156 mobos. The NT sticks are low density chips
