I have just recently started building my new computer and after I got everything put in and got ready to start it up it never went into post. The monitor doesn't have any display. Everything inside the case seems to be working. All the fans, graphics card light, fan controllers on the case, I'm just not getting it to post. I have taken out the graphics card and just tried the on board video to see if that would work but it didn't. Later I tried only 1 stick of ram in each slot. I've also tried a different stick of ram that I know that works. The dram light on the motherboard is solid red and I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean. Surprisingly the motherboard did not come with a speaker so I am going out to buy one later today and see what type of beeping it is doing. I haven't tried to breadboard it yet but I am planning on after I get the speaker. With my luck I believe I have received a bad motherboard but I also don't want to speculate. I'll see what you guys think.

Solution
Hello, follow the steps:

1- Connect you computer in another monitor and cables. Try all i/o in monitor and gpu (hdmi, display port, dvi)

2- After power on, be attention if hdd led blicking on case (this prove then system starting from hdd) pc working and loading O.S

3- You must have a speaker conected, so take off all RAM modules end power on, the speaker MUST make beeps. If not beeps, mobo proablem. Change for another ram modules too.

4- Change the video card if all those steps work. Try you onboard video before.

Good Luck!

Several simple things to check first because they are easy to overlook. Do you have both power connectors on the GPU hooked up ? Have you checked the BIOS settings for trim being enabled ? I'm building a very similar PC same MB and CPU + SSD. Double check the Sabertooth user manual it is comprehensive and rereading it can save you from wasting time and money on an RMA .

Have u connected 8 pin cpu power header to the left hand side of the heatsink? Have u tried wiring it to boot without any fans and front usb header etc disconnected?

I discovered the front USB header on my gaming 3 from my fractal r5 caused boot to halt for some unknown reason, i know MSI boards do a wake test on voltage then appear to power off and back on upon boot, assuming my front usb hub was not supported by my board. Simply ordered a usb 3 hub from anker for £10

Btw i also notice alot of compatability issues between msi boards and evga power supply units, should maybe use an old psu or borrow a friends to rule this out as a last resort before rma if what i posted above doesnt work
