I just got a stick of 8GB corsair DDR3 RAM at 1600 MHz, but my computer is acting as if there is no RAM at all. I've done some basic diagnostics and think it might be a motherboard problem but I don't know what I should be looking for in terms of limitations, I have an MSI G41M-P25. Thanks for any help

Seems the 1600MHz isn't one of the supported according to the specs, only DDR3 800/1066/1333 (OC) Although, your mobo should auto adjust to run at the lowest necessary speed to perform properly. You may have to tweak your memory settings manually in your bios to get it to run.
