I would like to replace the current CPU cooling I have on my z68a (gigabyte) motherboard and I am a bit of a novice when It comes to compatability. I know its a dated motherboard but the build has been reliable for 3 years and I am still happy with it. The old cooling fan was in bad shape. I run an i7-2600 CPU. My case is an old NZXT with similar specs to their new S340.
Noise is a major factor for me. I will pay more for a more efficient quite cooling system.
