My problem is that after changing RAM frequency in BIOS settings from 667 mhz to 800 mhz, my pc won't boot up anymore. Not far enough for me to change it back to defaults.

I also tried taking out the cmos battery, but that didnt work. I'm afraid it could've done some permanent hardware damage.

It's an old Intel Pentinum core i2, with 3 ddr3 RAM sticks, 2 of them defaultly built in 512mb each and one 2gb ddr3, which has been running well on that pc for quite a while now. Shouldn't be the problem.

I made sure everything is where it should be inside pc build, also tried changing dmm's for ram, and running pc with only default RAM sticks. Refitting the cmos battery doesn't work as well. I feel like the pc itself is so old, it probably took hardware damage from any small changes..

Did you try the bios reset jumper on the board to reset bios. Usually unplug power, keep battery in, move jumper from 1/2 pins to 2/3 for 10 seconds, then back to 1/2 and power up
