Alright, so yesterday I was playing a game on steam. All was well, no lag or any signs of a problem. Out of nowhere, bluescreen. Of course these things always concern me, but it has happened before about 3 or 4 months ago so I did minimal research and moved on assuming it was my build or something I faulted.

Today I was playing world of tanks and it happened again. Though this time was a little different. I experienced some graphical lag and then the BSOD.

I booted up again and before I could put any real effort into finding out what could be wrong I got the 'busted graphics card' screen where it doesn't sync properly and looks like the 'artifacts' from a failing card.

Welp, into safe mode and I proceeded to check my BIOS and board drivers and they're all fine. This is where I got a bit scared. In safemode it BSOD'd with the same error code.

I haven't the slightest clue what's happening. What I do know is limited.

-All the important drivers and the BIOS are up to date.
-Catalyst software has an update available I have yet to download.
-I switched my monitor from the DVI-I to DVI-D port on my card after the safe mode BSOD.
-Based on microsoft information, I have considered that my memory is about a year and a half old.

I can't get the damn dump file to upload and I'm not savvy enough to read it myself but I have the codes displayed.

0x0000001E
0xFFFFFFFF0000005
0xFFFFF800026CD4D0
0x0000000000000000
xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello... Which file Name did it say with BSOD?
BSOD is a Communication error between Hardware and Windows OS.
1) turn off OverClock settings.
2) remove extra hardware from the MB... try to isolate a failed unit... until BSOD stops.
3) check and re-check all your Data and power connections.
4) Check current temperatures, and cooling Fans operating status.

I never overclocked to begin with so that can't be the issue.
All I have in there was the wifi card. I'll try screwing around without it to see if anything happens.
Internals are good, all wires secured and all connections are strong.
Temperatures are normal for my usage. All the case fans are brand new and running perfectly, CPU fan is increasing and decreasing as it should, as are the card fans.

On the topic of a file name, all it gave me was " *** STOP " followed by the 5 codes.

There is no integrated GPU on the MB so that is not a possibility.

As for everything else I'll wait on that. It would appear that with the catalyst update came something called "Radeon settings" along with a bunch of driver updates including one display driver that is 3 months newer than the old version. I am currently testing this and have run world of tanks with no issues so far.

If the issue persists I'll do everything with the hardware I can with what I have on hand.

Alright, I've made it 24 hours without a bluescreen after updating the graphics drivers.

Things I've done that may have worked.

- Switched monitor cable from DVI-I to DVI-D on the graphics card.
- Updated catalyst control center (that came with 'radeon settings')
- Catalyst control center installed the latest driver for the graphics card.

If nothing persists, this will be my solution.
