Hello everybody this is my first time posting i have a asrock H110M Combo-G and a 8gb ddr4 stick an i5 skylake 5400 or 5500 does it matter lol and imma let you geniuses figure out whats wrong :??:
well i had the pc running but i got no signal from the graphics card so i took the graphics card out plugged it in to the motherboard vga or whatever its called and the computer is dead it wont turn on i dont think its a power supply cause i tried 2 psu is the mother board bad or

Solution
Over 20 years and I can say I bought a few PSU that were lemons. But now lets pretend everythign is ok and everything works but just will not turn on.

A. Make sure you grounded yourself while building the pc. Static is a killer!
B. Confirm the pc case needs screw offsets on the bottom or not. If the bottom where the motherboard sits has raised areas for the motherboard to sit on then you do not need to buy offset screws at all.
C. Make sure the power strip is turned on. Keep a lamp plugged into it if the power switch light has burned out.
D. Try plugging it into a different outlet.
E. Sometimes inside the pc the on/off power button toggle wires are plugged into the wrong jumper. Instead use the quick connect jumper...

Hi,

Try the following tests so we can narrow down the list of problems it could be facing.

Test 1:

Assemble everything expect the graphic card and ensure that everything is plugged correctly with the PSU. Leave the case open and plug the PSU in the wall socket and turn the wall socket switch on. Do not switch on from the case. Do you notice any lights coming out from the motherboard?

Test 2: If the LEDs are lit on the motherboard

Try to switch it on. If the computer wont start ensure that the case power button is plugged correctly on the motherboard. If the computer did start, it should beep, notifying that you don't have a GPU installed. If in that case, power off and switch off from the wall socket, install the GPU, and see if everything is working correctly.

Test 3: If the LEDs are NOT lit on the motherboard

The problem is either with the PSU or the motherboard. Try to use another PSU (ensure that is has enough power) and go back to Test 1 and 2. If the new PSU didn't lit the LEDs on the motherboard, it could be either a defect in the motherboard or you installed incorrectly.

Could you also provide the name of the GPU and PSU? And did you use standoffs between the case and the motherboard?

Regards,
Brandon
