Hey guys
i am a cs go gamer i have been playing for 1 year now! I always had my ping around 10-50! I am using a wireless connection. My computer got GTX 980, 16gb ram, i7 4770. so it isn't a hardware issure. I was using an alfa usb adapter (alfa awus036nha), and suddenly out of nowhere, my ping begins to go up and down. up too 500ms sometimes. so i bought the asus PCEI ac68 network card instead, but still the same issue. according to speedtest.net my d/l speed is 30 mb while upload speed is 5 mb, and it sticks always in that range.
my router is ciscoEPC9325. since it is this sudden, something must have gone wrong? should i install a new router, is it the game itself. pls help. :)

Try connecting your PC to your router via ethernet cable if possible and test if your ping still spikes. If the issue doesn't continue we atleast know it's only and issue with your wireless connection. Wireless issues are pretty tough to diagnose it could be many different thing causing your ping to spike. Also, are you using Windows 10? I had a cousin who would get ping spikes when another machine using Windows 10 on his network donwloaded updates from him. It's a feature new to Windows 10. Try disabling that feature as well. Some of Windows telemetry could also cause ping spikes but since you have an alright upload and download speed I don't think that's the issue unless you don't have much bandwidth on your wireless connection. If you have cable internet you could have a bad splitter or cable somewhere that is starting to go out. Also there could be issues with your node or SAE outside your house in your neighborhood somewhere. I would contact your ISP and let them know and have them come out and check it out.

Also like affinitydesigns said check all your cables and splitters for issues and if all else fails contact your isp!
