How are cases compatible with mobo's onboard USB 3.0 header

sorry I am unable to understand which Case's USB 3.0 can be connected to a Mobo's (Asus Z97-C, in my case) onboard USB 3.0 header.

E.g.: For Inwin 136 Mana I read:
"The USB 3.0 ports use an internal connector, so make sure you install a motherboard with an internal USB 3.0 header."

Then at an other site:
"(the case doesn't feature a mainboard USB plug)", and a back plugging to USB 3.0 (or how to say it correctly):
http://www.nikktech.com/main/articles/pc-hardware/79-in-win-mana-136-midi-tower.html?showall=&start=3

So would the case Inwin 136 Mana be compatible with a Z97-c's mobo usb 3.0 header then?
Or SilverStone Redline RL01?

Or might I buy a Corsair 200R / 300R, which has only USB 3.0 on front panel, hoping that my USB 2.0 devices will be compatible with that?

thanx for any info!

Solution
Right... cases need the long wire and connecor to be attatched to the motherboard internal USB 3.0 header. If it doesn't have it, look for another that does.

And if you've already bought the case (without USB 3.0 front panel cable), You could buy a USB 3.0 front Panel Hub for either the floppy drive or the 5.25" optical bay.

All cases here at least all on he first page have USB 3.0 in the front panel.

ASUS Z97-C LGA 1150 Intel Z97
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132131

Specifications:
Internal I/O Connectors
Onboard USB 2 x USB 3.0 + 6 x USB 2.0

ASUS Z97-C image. USB 3.0 header is located to the right bottom of the RAM sockets (top of the image)... the case's USB 3.0 wire connector should match the header pins. Install the USB 3.0 drivers from the motherboard disk before USB 3.0 ports can work. They may work from the BIOS but not during Windows installation or Windows interface.

Many thanx Chicano and Brandon for great info,

Yes, I knew this Mobo is blessed with many i/o ports, my doubts are mostly about the different cases' connectivity options - in general.

So I guess, I should look for cases with USB 3.0 wire connector, which will be compatible with a Mobo's internal USB 3.0 header / connector.

If I see on a case: "USB 3.0 Super Speed Transfer Interface", then it is ok for my Mobo header?

I guess, if my mobo is so abundant with ports, then it will be compatible with any cases, having USB 3 on their front panels? Or perhaps, to be on the safe side, I should buy some cable for it?

I guess if a review states: "the case doesn't feature a mainboard USB plug", then it means, it cannot be connected to the mobo in the above mentioned interior (case port to mobo header) way, only via an other way (plugging some cable to the mobo's back) .

Many thanx Chicano!

possibly a last question, as still I should buy a case for that Mobo (Z97-C, equipped with internal USB 3.0 header).

May I buy a case with ONLY USB 3.0 connectors of front panel, hoping that it will be compatible with my USB 2 devices, too? (Like Corsair 200, 300)

(Also, if a cable is not included between case front panel and Mobo header, I guess, I can buy easily a cable for that.)

Or possibly I should buy a USB 2.0 front Panel Hub for these cases (for either the floppy drive or the 5.25" optical bay) for best result?

Bye, E.

1. For what I read In the Newegg page with all those cases, they all had 3.0 and 2.0 USB in the front panel... that means 3.0 and 2.0 USB in the front panel is common in most computer cases sold these days, and you can connect them to both the internal 3.0 and 2.0 USB headers on the Z97-C motherboard.

2. If they make cases with 3.0 & 2.0 USB in the front panel but don't supply the cable, the cable should be available online... I had not searched for it up to this sentence but that seemed obvious... and here are the results.. I decided to search to complete the answer and found it instantly.

3. The USB hub for either 3.0, 2.0 USB or with both, should be better quality than those included in a case.. the electronic board and components that make up the hub are more and larger than the mini board in the hub included in cases, so, it should be better.

Whatever type case you choose to buy, with or without a USB cable, or both 3.0 and 2.0 USB, there is always a way to buy what it's lacking.

OFF:

Many thanx Chicano for thy thorough answers, effort & time!

The parameters, features when selecting a Mobo-Case pair, where quite overwhelming for a techy novice like myself, especially when I had a deadline.
As, on Black Friday I ordered a GPU, and needed to find the suitable other hardware parts to test it quickly, within 3 days, if its change were needed due to malfunction.
So in other, normal circumstances, when time is not an inspiring factor, I would have searched much more on net, so sorry, and gr8 thanx for thy enlightenment, making me sure in my purchasing decisions (as in simple, good-old Commodore days).

Bye. E.
