Hi, I have HP H8-1210t desktop with GT 530 and it doesn't have DP. I thought it did, but turns out HDMI instead. I bought a NEC 27" wide gamut monitor because I couldn't recalibrate my current display and therefor need DP for 30 color bit and resolution. I run PS CC and edit large files. I have checked out the Quadro but can't find info to verify if it is compatible. The geforce is all about gaming and I can't search which one has DP. I know this is asking alot but my husband and I are burnt out searching. Thank you in advance.

300 watt pw but I am willing to upgrade that. Bios? I have looked into new computer but to get the Quadro I need a workstation and $1500.00. Yikes ..

Any x16 card will work fine, which is basically any video card. You will probably need to look at a psu upgrade though as a modern card is going to draw alot more power than a gt 530. A tier 2 psu of 550w or more would be perfect. Here is a great list of psu's to choose from: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

Why is it that you need the Quadro? If you are coming from a gt 530 it seems you would be fine with a normal non-workstation card.

Good Morning, I greatly appreciate the psu info.

You say any card will work but how to sort through them all and choose one. Geforce web site is restrictive. I can't search for certain specs to narrow the field options, like dual displayports, memory interface width, and a high number of CUDA cores. The unfortunate part is the K620 seems to have similar specs to the GT530, so I am thinking it won't be an improvement.

To answer your question about why I need a better card? Because while searching for knowledge about how to choose a new card, I now understand why PS ran so slow for me. I mean I could vacuum while waiting for a layer to process. I don't have that kind of patience. LOL My husband has the same exact computer and he does design with Solidworks and his drags also, so we will need to get him a faster card as well. I have already added more RAM and SSDs ...etc to speed it up.

If I am better off buying a new machine ...fine but geeze why does it have to cost $1500.00. Seems cheaper to buy a new graphics set up and then put that card into the new machine next year.
