I have an older HP pavilion with PEGATRON CORPORATION 2AC2 MOBO. I have 8 GB of Ram. I tried to install a video card so I could have Open GL 3.2 (have some graphics software that needs it), but I never could get the computer to get past the setup screen. I have upgraded the PSU to 750 watts. Once it gets to the first screen with information and press ESC for setup, it goes no farther. Fan on the card is running. It is pretty much locked up at this point. AMI Bios version 7.14. PCI express 2.0 card. I'd really like for this card to work.

This card does not require additional power, just what it gets from the bus. The computer gets to the first flash screen, the black on with system information, then it says "press ESC for setup", then nothing. Pressing ESC or any other key has no effect.

Also tried clearing the CMOS this morning, but it still does not get into the BIOS setup page. When I went back to the on board graphics, I saw a message that said "Default BIOS loaded", so I apparently the CMOS was cleared.

At this point I am almost tempted to take it all to the Best Buy GEEK squad and see if they can get it to work. Research that I have done indicates that this graphics card is supposed to be compatible with the MOBO in the computer. Either that, or just buy a new computer. Just hate to reinstall all the software. Ugh.

"Test the card in another system see if that works. "

This is the second card I've tried with the same results.

Thanks for all the help folks. I'm not going to waste any more time trying to get it to work.
