For $60 extra you get an SSD for your OS and main programs and a 4Gb GPU. I dropped the cooler that isn't needed now, but can always be added later and went with the cheapest case that worked. Cases are much easier/lower cost to upgrade than other items, so see this as something that just gets you started. I also switched the motherboard to something with a more updated chipset/features, and that can handle SLI and an unlocked processor if you wanted to upgraded in the future. The power supply is also sized so that if you did drop in another 4Gb 960, you could without upgrading anything else.
