Netgear password not accepted on wireless devices

I have a Netgear 2000 RPT range extender. I've linked it to my primary router using the same security and password, and on the confirmation screen, I can see the password. When I try to connect my mobile devices, the network shows up, but when I type in the password, it says "Incorrect password for "network name". I know I'm typing in the correct password but it just won't take. I tried it on a couple of devices with the same result. It's WEP security. Any ideas?

I have a netgear EX2700 and it won't work with WEP. That may be your problem. Change it to WPA and see what happens. If you have found the problem let me know. I have mine set up but it won't accept my password for main router. I need help with that.
