This is the Dell screen
and
This is the Lenovo laptop

The problem is that I need to connect the laptop to show onto the dell monitor but the Lenovo does not have a VGA input on it. The Dell is old and I'm not sure if I can get the right cable to connect to both of the devices. If someone could look at the specs of each one and tell me if they are compatible or what cable I need for them?
I also have a Think Pad One Link Pro Dock

Im not sure what the cord with the yellow tip on it is and I cant seem to find out...

If anyone can give me advice on this, that would be great :)

Looks to me like all you need is a HDMI cable an HDMI to DVI adapter such as:

The Lenovo laptop has a full size HDMI so you just need to connect the cable from the laptop into the adapter, then plug the adapter into the Dell screen.

As for that dock that you have, I don't think it's compatible with your laptop (I can't see anywhere for it to plug in to.
