Cooler master megaflow-Can i choose not to connect LED?

Hi, I understand that you can't turn on and off the led in the cooler master megaflow 200. I wonder-since I would prefer it to be off rather than on all the time, is it possible to just not connect the LED? Is the LED a separate cable than the fan's cable?
(P.S I have a thermaltake Chaser MKI with fan led light button, will it work with the new fan?)

Through the button in the case, you mean?
The point is that it is not a straightforward on/off button. It changes the LEDs to various colors and only after a few times it turns it off. Will it still work?

Mine didn't. I just cut the wires on my new red one: LEDs are off, fan is working fine.
