So, Intel i5-6600k,650W EVGA SuperNOVA G2 PSU. System works fine. Win7 installed, drivers installed, BIOS are up to date.

When I put the GeForce GTX 970 in, it boots but doesn't post. Tried HDMI both in mobo port and graphics card, nothing.

Are there any BIOS settings I have to change before installing the card? I've looked around but couldn't find any.

Solution
Ok in the initial install - did you load the latest drivers from the mobo web site? (correct) or use the ones on the mobo driver disk (may well have been out of date). Next, while still using onboard video (iGPU) would be go into bIOS and set primary graphics to PEG/PCI-E, shutdown, install video card, connect power cable(s) to GPU card, hook up video cable to the card, then boot to Win. Once in Win load latest GPU drivers from the manufacturer for your OS from the net (again, drivers on the CD are probably already out of date and should be good

I'm having the same problem - same exact MB but with a gtx 950 - but I can't for the life of me find the primary display option in the bios. Can you tell me where you found that?
