Hi,
I've just finished putting my new build together:
Intel i7 Skylark 6700k 4ghz
Gigabyte GA-Z170X-G3 motherboard
Gigabyte GTX 980
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400mhx RAM x 32gb (8gbx4)
OCZ Trion 100 240GB Sata III SSD
The first problem I had was that the windows installation (Windows 7 Home Premium from USB, I also have the CD and a USB CD drive) kept asking for a cd/dvd driver, turns out the motherboard doesn't come with the USB 2 driver support, so Gigabyte created a custom tool to slip them into a USB with the windows installation. So now I can access the windows installation, but I cannot find my SSD drive, even in the bios.
I've tried swapping the new SATA cables for my old ones and it didn't work.
I also have a Samsung EVO 120gb SSD and a Samsung 1TB HDD that I've previously used, the bios doesn't pick up the SSD, but does pick up the HDD.
Does anyone understand what is happening? I've tried pretty much every solution I can find on google to no avail. Could it be an issue with the SATA III ports? I've also tried loading the Intel preinstall SATA drivers, during the windows installation, however this still didn't work.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
