When im playing games my screen will go red and computer will restart i think my generic PSU is the issue or maybe its my graphics card connected with dual 4 pin molex to pci e
to fix i put graphics on lowest setting and computer wont restart this only happened with most games some games like gta v on high graphics rarely will the screen go red and restart

Specs:
motherboard: asus not sure which model
graphics card: MSI radeon r9 270 2gb GDDR5
ram:16 gb
PSU: generic 650wat (computer previuosly used 500wat psu)

Ideally should avoid generic midnight firecrackers and get a decent psu and also to use proper pcie connectors.

Though it doesn't really mean the psu is faulty or gpu. Try just one of the molex adapters connected and not both. You have two molex coming from the psu to 1 6pin to the graphics card yea?

did you mean to select me as best answer because i can unselect it if you didn't mean to.

Can you link me to your PSU? Would be very helpful.

Try just the one, having two might be putting the PSU under more stress causing it to restart. Not knowing exactly your PSU is able to give, it may need two molex adapters but it might require you to feed power from separate rails if your PSU is capable. The two into 1 as is currently sounds like its feeding off the same rail and if that 12v rail isn't providing enough amps it could explain what you're seeing.

If you're not sure you can run molex from separate lines and not combining a single rail to a card that needs more power, be best to quit while your ahead and get a better psu with the right connections. Seasonic and XFX are reliable brands, im sure searching best PSUs will give you plenty to choose from.
