Well thats not a very good attitude is it, if people are trying to help you then be grateful.
The reason most people will recommend building your own pc is because it is far cheaper and actually very easy to learn.
The reason I havent given you the name of a big pc chain like PC World or something is because they don't in my experience do custom building, and even if they did I wouldn't hand my expensive parts over to them.
There are plenty of sites that will build you a pc from scratch if you know which parts you want, but not if you have your already have the parts.
what did I do wrong?
You did nothing wrong. Targetdan mistakingly took Greg's response to be your response.
Find a local computer shop and ask them to do it. Replacing PC hardware is easy. So don't let them charge you much, unless you are swapping out everything, including the motherboard..
alright thanks. I will be replacing the power supply.. cpu gpu and the motherboard
This constitutes a rebuild. The motherboard and CPU will take a little minute. Altogether, I'd estimate this to be a four-hour job if done by somebody who knows what he or she is doing. At $40.00 per hour, I'd expect to pay someone (who is a professional and not a friend of yours) $160.00.
I estimate four hours not because switching out the hardware will take that much time, but because of the time it will likely take troubleshooting after the hardware is finished. You know it's inevitable that the machine won't boot the first time; so, the technician will need to spend a lot of time troubleshooting the problem!
Good luck!
