On a completely new system with an ASUS/Intel motherboard, the only BIOS setting I changed was to configure Power On by RTC Alarm for every day at 5:30 am.

Nothing happens. I've configured this successfully on every computer I've ever built until now!

What other BIOS settings does this depend on that I don't know about? Could the CMOS battery be an issue?

Thank you for any suggestions!

I discovered that the Windows 10 "Fast startup" option was preventing my BIOS Power On settings from working, since that Windows setting doesn't truly shut down the computer, but puts it in S4 hibernation. I don't care about Fast Startup since I'm turning the computer on while I'm still in bed for automated maintenance tasks. So I disabled it, the computer now starts daily at 5:30 and does it's thing, and I'm satisfied. -Doug

Was having the same problem, until I read your post! Thanks, Doug!

This post shows you how to get to the "fast startup" setting to enable it, just do the opposite instead.
