so as the holidays come around i find myself wondering if I should buy a gtx 780 to sli with my other gtx 780 (it will be used, id spend around 300$ for it) or if i sell my gtx 780 for 300$ and go with the new 980 or 980ti. I have a 1000w psu and I live in a place where power is cheap so the added power draw of sli is not a factor for me. Furthermore I have a large case so the heat created wont be a factor. I plan on buying a 2560x1440 monitor. wondering what would be the best decision for me.

Solution
I personally wouldn't invest in another 780 due to the "low" VRAM amount. I'd recommend the 980ti, not the regular 980, because of it's bad price/performance ratio.
@1440 you'll definitively need a strong card, so that's another point for the 980ti. Also 1440 needs more VRAM, than 1080p so again 980ti. :p

yea looking at the benchmarks i could not see 300$ difference even with the best numbers available. the furys are around the same price, a little cheaper but i dont know if i want to go back to amd, kind of an nvidia fanboy here. I think im going to stick with the 980 unless theres a really good boxing day price for 980ti. thanks everyone for their input!
